Founded in 1958 by John Farrugia, John’s Garage has sought to become one of the most reputable car hire companies on the island, offering luxury cars, professional chauffeurs and ultimately, a memorable experience to all clients using the service. Fast-forward to 2024, Dione and Andre Farrugia left behind their previous jobs to pursue a new venture in owning a business. While respecting the long history behind John’s Garage and maintaining the goodwill, they started to make their mark on the company by elevating it to new heights from the get-go. The rebranding was the first step in moving the company forward. In May 2024, JG Drive Services was established as the legal company name, while John’s Garage—a name synonymous with the company’s history, great reputation for first-class service, and commitment to over 40 employees— was secured as the trading name. This is reflected in the new fingerprint logo, which has the tagline, “A Personal touch to every ride.”
Sustainability and the modernisation of the company’s systems were also key factors that played a role in leveraging it and providing better service to clients. With the support of the Malta Development Bank’s SME Guarantee Scheme, Dione and Andre secured the funding needed to invest in electric vehicles and make significant improvements to the mechanical department. What’s more, they also succeeded in upgrading the company’s paper-based processes to fully digital solutions with complete features like Safe Online Payment, Free Cancellation, and 24/7 Customer Service.
John’s Malta has a large fleet of 45 vehicles to cater for the services listed below. This includes cabs, luxury cars (Mercedes & BMWs, selection of 7,10,14 & 18 seaters), standard electric and luxury electric vehicles and a wide range of classic & vintage cars (Rolls Royce, Daimler’s, Bentleys & Cadillacs).
